McFerrin Experience Team

Building Experience. Creating Experiences.

EXPERIENCE is a key word at the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship. We strive to provide programs and opportunities for Texas A&M students that go beyond the classroom and move into an experience. Within the McFerrin Center, there are a variety of programs that each play a vital role in providing experiential learning opportunities and developing an entrepreneurial mindset for all students at Texas A&M University. Student leaders — the McFerrin Experience Team — will be responsible for planning, hosting and executing many of the student-focused programs hosted by the McFerrin Center. It is our goal that these student leaders build their own experience while creating experiences for others.

All students at Texas A&M University are encouraged to apply for a role on the McFerrin Experience Team. If you’re a current Texas A&M student looking to gain real-world experience in program planning, facilitation and execution, while interacting with the McFerrin Center team and the Aggie Entrepreneurial Ecosystem, this is your opportunity!

Student Director (of Putting It All Together)*

Student Directors hold the highest leadership positions within our student-led programs. The director role oversees the management and high-level operations of multiple student-run programs, experiences and events. Directors will collaborate closely with their team of student managers to develop strategic planning, budget and management skills. This role will also meet with the McFerrin staff on a regular basis to ensure program goals are being met with impactful and meaningful programming. Student Directors gain invaluable experience in multi-dimensional management and leadership by ensuring the success of programs while prioritizing the positive growth and fulfillment of their peers.

Student Manager (of Making It Happen)*

Student Managers are the backbone for all McFerrin current student programs. Throughout the academic year, a student manager will be responsible for every aspect of their selected program. This includes everything from brainstorming, planning, marketing, program execution & delivery to post-event cleanup. Managers will recruit a team of associates to assist in all program roles utilizing their skills in management, accountability, and delegation to make the program successful. Student managers are the leaders that develop the team and make the McFerrin Center for Entrepreneurship programming come to life.

Student Associate (to Get It Done)

Student associates are often the “face” of McFerrin and the champion for each program. They are actively engaged and contribute to every program effort, from planning events to inviting students to participate. Associates report to student managers in each program. They are filled with enthusiasm for all McFerrin programs and have the opportunity to learn what it takes to be a high-performance team member all while having the most fun of any role.

*Roles will require in-office hours each week, with dedicated office space, to communicate and coordinate with McFerrin Center staff. Hours will be flexible, but must be agreed upon with McFerrin Center staff.
